Ross Cooke, of Norco, was walking through a dry wash in Lytle Creek last week when he stepped on a rattlesnake, which bit him twice on the lower left leg, said Randy Emon, San Bernardino County coroner's spokesman. Cooke walked about 500 yards to his car and used his phone to call his wife. After speaking with her Friday, he called his boss at a refrigeration company, who then told him to drive to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Fontana, about 16 miles away. |
