2003-05-13 - 4:17 p.m. The Green party in Granada, Spain, is drawing the ire of conservatives. To encourage a more dignified start to young folks' sex lives, the Greens are proposing a new voucher giving young couples a 50 percent discount in the city's hotels. Francisco Garrido, the Greens' mayoral candidate, said as economic circumstances force more young people to live with their parents longer, many couples resort to clandestine locations for their first trysts. This encourages a casual attitude to contraception, he said, leading to many unwanted pregnancies. Other cities are considering similar measures, including turning off seafront lights so amorous couples could frolic on the beach. |
